More knitted poppies

You may remember that in June I knitted and donated 21 poppies to Huntingdon Library. There should have been thirty poppies but I didn't get them all finished in time.

While knitting outside All Saints Church on 14th June for Worldwide Knit in Public Day 2014 one of the knitters requested knitted poppies for St Hugh's Church in Buckden. The remaining nine of my intended thirty were all made as field poppies (pattern here), using a variety of double knitting yarns from my stash as before. They were donated in time for Remembrance Sunday on 9th November and Remembrance Day on the 11th.

You may also remember that I made a smaller version of the garter stitch poppy (pattern here) using 4ply yarns and 2mm needles. This had a knitted leaf to my own design and a brooch back added and is worn by Dave on his jacket.

I knitted one for myself also, using a red 4ply sparkle yarn.

The leaf was made in garter stitch using a 4ply thickness shiny cord-type yarn from my stash on 2mm (old UK size 14) needles.
